10 Communities, Initiatives, and Non Profits I’m supporting this Giving Tuesday

If you follow me, then you know personal finance has become a passion of mine. I post articles about tech companies, ask about stock trades, and if you dm me, engage in harmless debates. It’s fun, but most importantly, I see getting smart about personal finance as a journey towards freedom. Giving back is one way I use some of my “freedom” (and privilege) to free others, and I believe it should be a core component of everyone’s personal finance strategy. Giving Tuesday is a perfect platform to enable freedom for others through of end of year giving.

So what exactly is Giving Tuesday?…

Giving Tuesday started as a movement to give back after two of the biggest US shopping days: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It’s a call to action: we’ve spend billions (reportedly $9B in 2020 alone) holiday shopping; now, let’s spend time donating to organizations who need support. Since 2012, it has grown into an international giving holiday raising an estimated $511M online and $1.97B total in 2019.

While I have communities I regularly support, I asked my followers who I should give to this year. Here are the 9 amazing organizations they shared (+ a bonus).

As the United States becomes an increasingly multicultural society, Posse believes that the leaders of the 21st century should reflect the country’s rich demographic mix.
